Buddha Air

The story of Buddha Air begins with a maiden flight to the top of the world on a Beechcraft 1900D on 11 October 1997. Since then, they have grown to be the largest and longest operating privately owned domestic airlines of Nepal.

FLIGHT FARE RULES AND REGULATIONS

Nepali/Indian Fares
  • This type of fare is applicable to the citizens of Nepal & India.
  • Nepali (NRN): A valid document issued by the Nepal Government, can benefit from this fare.
Foreigner (USD) Fare
  • This type of fare is applicable for the citizens besides Nepalese and Indian nationality.
  • A lower fare category is not applicable to foreigners.
  • OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) holder travellers/passengers needs to pay this fare.
Residential Fare
  • This type of fare is applicable for the foreign passenger(s) who have been staying in Nepal for at least six (6) months before the flight date in NON-TOURIST VISA. Foreign Cockpit Crew flying different aircraft in domestic airlines will also be facilitated with this type of fare.
Child Fare
  • Child fare is applicable for the passenger(s) aged between 02 Years to (under) 12 Years of age. 33 % of the normal ‘Y’ fare is discounted for this type of passenger(s).
Infant
  • Infant fare is applicable for the passenger(s) aged 7 days from birth to (under) 02 years. Only 10 % of the normal ‘Y’ fare will be charged for Infant passenger(s).
Refugee
  • Refugee (s) Identification issuing country will be treated as the nationality to determine the fare for the refugee(s)
Off Spring
  • The child of this category will get 75% waive only on fare.
Identity
  • Any valid photo identity is MANDATORY while CHECK-IN in the airport.
Normal ‘Y’ Fare
  • A cancellation charge of 10% of the fare is levied if the cancellation of the ticket is done before 11 hours from flight time.
  • A cancellation charge of 33.33% of the fare is levied if the cancellation of the ticket is done within 11 hours from flight time.
  • Cancellation is prohibited within two (2) hours of flight time.
  • Rescheduling of any flight can be before two hours of flight time.
  • Passenger(s) will be treated as ‘No-Show’ if they do not Check-In within stated reporting time. Buddha Air is not liable to refund the ticket if the passenger(s) fall under this category.
  • Passenger Service Tax (Airport Tax) is refundable for No Show tickets.
  • Refunds are made from the point of issue.
  • The baggage allowance is 25 kg.
  • Fare class will be “Y” for Normal fare ticket.
Apex ‘A’ Fare
  • A cancellation charge of 25% of the fare is levied if the cancellation of the ticket is done before 11 hours from flight time.
  • A cancellation charge of 50% of the fare is levied if the cancellation of the ticket is done within 11 hours from flight time.
  • Cancellation is prohibited within 2 hours of flight time.
  • Rescheduling of any flight can be done before two hours of flight time.
  • Passenger(s) will be treated as ‘No-Show’ if they do not Check-In within stated reporting time. The company is not liable to refund the tickets if the passenger(s) falls under this category.
  • Passenger Service Charge (Airport Tax) is refundable for No Show tickets.
  • The baggage allowance is 20 kg.
  • The open ticket cannot be issued in Apex fare.
  • Fare class will be “A” for Apex fare ticket.
Bravo ‘B’ Fare
  • Only Fuel surcharge will be refunded if cancellation is made before 2 hours from flight time.
  • Rescheduling can be done under the terms and conditions of rescheduling charges.
  • Cancellation is prohibited within two (2) hours of flight time.
  • Open Ticket cannot be issued in Bravo fare.
  • Passenger(s) will be treated as ‘No-Show’ if they do not Check-In within stated reporting time. The company is not liable to refund the tickets if the passenger(s) fall under this category.
  • “B” fare will be sold on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis.
  • Passenger Service Charge (Airport Tax) is refundable for No Show tickets.
  • The baggage allowance is 20 kg.
  • Fare class will be “B” for the Bravo Fare ticket.
Charlie “C”, Delta “D” And Echo “E” Fare
  • These fares are nonrefundable, non transferable.
  • Rescheduling can be done under the terms and conditions of rescheduling charges.
  • The open ticket cannot be issued in Charlie, Delta, and Echo fare.
  • Passenger(s) will be treated as ‘No-Show’ if they do not Check-In within stated reporting time. The company is not liable to refund the tickets if the passenger(s) fall under this category.
  • Passenger Service Charge (Airport Tax) is refundable for No Show tickets.
  • The baggage allowance is 15 kg.
  • These fares will be sold on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis.

Cancellation and Refund Process

Buddha Air does provide a refund on the cancellation of your tickets, but cancellation charges apply accordingly.

If you have purchased a ticket from an authorized travel agency:
  • You will need to contact your travel agency or point of sales from which you have purchased your Buddha Air ticket.
  • The refund amount will only be deposited in the travel agency’s account and you will have to contact the travel agency for your refund.
  • Cancellation charges as per the fare class of the ticket.
If you have purchased a ticket from any of Buddha Air’s Sales Offices in cash:
  • You will have to visit the nearest sales office and cancel your tickets.
  • You will receive your refund in cash immediately.
  • Cancellation charges as per the fare class of the ticket.

Note: For payment made through any convertible currency, a refund will be made in local currency.

If you have purchased from any of Buddha Air’s Sales Offices using your Card:
  • You will have to visit the nearest sales offices to cancel your ticket.
  • After you have canceled your ticket, the refund process will take 7 to 8 working days from the date of cancellation.
  • The refund amount will only be deposited in the same card/bank account through which payment was done.
  • A 3.5% bank charges will be levied along with cancellation charges as per the fare class of the ticket.
Reschedule Policy
  • Chargeable rescheduling can be done as per the availability of seat status.
  • If seats for the same fare category are not available, upgrading is possible. Please note the payment of seat fare differences and reschedule charges are mandatory.
  • If tickets are canceled, then cancellation rules apply. Please note the payment of cancellation charges will be that of the original fare category, not the upgraded fare category. However, reschedule charges for the upgraded fare category still apply.
  • Reschedule charges and upgrading charges are not refundable unless the tickets are canceled by Buddha Air.
  • Payment of rescheduling/up-gradation charges must be done at the point of rescheduling.

Baggage
  • ‘Y’ Class – 25 kgs.
  • ‘A’ & ‘B’ Class – 20 kgs.
  • ‘C’, ‘D’ & ‘E’ class – 15 kgs

It is mandatory to pay excess baggage charge as per sector-wise excess baggage rate.

Cancellation of Flight
  • In case of flight cancellation, the total amount of the ticket is refundable in all types of fare categories.
  • Buddha Air does not afford accommodation and transportation costs in case of flight cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances.
Others
  • Electronic tickets are not transferable.
  • If a flight is delayed by more than one hour, on the request of a passenger Buddha Air will cancel his/her ticket and will refund full fare.
Visa and Passport for International Flights
  • For international flights, please ensure that proper documents are with the passenger at the time of check-in.
  • Nepalis must either have Nepali citizenship (for flights to India) or a valid passport.
  • Indian nationals must either have a Voter ID or valid passport at the time of check-in for international flights.
  • Foreigners must have a valid passport and visas.
Passenger Service Charge
  • Passenger Service Charge will be refunded for unutilized services.
